The Great Enlightenment
04:19

The Great Enlightenment
The seasons in this town all look the same
And I've lost all track of where I am
I hear a song when I call your name
And miss the scents of the ground after the rains
We are aching for the walls to fall
Into the great enlightenment
Let’s not wait until its dawn my love
Before we hit the highway
Dangerous times
To live on the outskirts of town
With open fields all around
Keeping you from going downtown
To smile to camera on time
On Friday in the boulevard
Where everything’s going down
When everything's going down
We are aching for the walls to fall
Into the great enlightenment
Let’s not wait until its dawn my love
Before we hit the highway

I See The Love
03:58
|
|||
I SEE THE LOVE
My boat is ready
I built it strong
I hope it will last those
Wicked storms
As i must go now
Way down this canyon
The river holds
All of my stories
Or so i'm told
And i must find them
The pass gets wider
The wind it blows
My rowing is nothing
Against the wall
Of raging waters
Still i am thankful for it all
I start to question
My purpose here
Will love provide me
With a getaway
From this asylum
And will i manage
To keep my breath
So when i see her
I have the strength
And words to tell her
And so i'm shouting
That i fear none
Between my dives
I see the sun
I'm very thankful
For all my life
I see the love
I see the love
I see the love i found
And know that there's no other
The pass gets wider
The wind it blows
My rowing is nothing
Against the wall
Of raging waters
Still i am thankful for it all
And if i call her
Will she reach out
'til i feel the warmth
Of a thousand suns
Or will it echo between the rocks
'til it fades out
I see the love
I see the love
I see the love i found
And know that there's no other

Carolina
03:54
|

Carolina
yes i can remember darkness fear and never ending deserts
that dried your face from tears
i'm picking the memories off the trees
and from the scent of summer
in yellow, brown and green
now i'm lost within the arms of Carolina
and she's the warmest getaway, feels just like mother
inside my mind
i saw myself running in a dream
i was storming down the hallway but no one heard my plea
when i was a young boy this was life
from a speaker yelled a stranger when you called for your mom
now i'm lost within the arms of Carolina
and she's the warmest getaway feels just like mother
she's free, she makes her own rules
i cruise her sea and forget my old wounds
but i still feel the blisters
they drag me down to hear the whispers
inside my mind
i feel lost just like a child
now i'm lost within the arms of Carolina
wishing that i could forget but i still want her
i saw myself running in dream
i was looking for a doorway but never was let in

I Wonder If She's Fine
03:13
|
|||
I wonder if she's fine
when the winter rains wash through me
you know i'm still on my way
and then summer leaves me in ruins
and no words are left unsaid
i wonder if she's fine
down in the corner of my mind
i wonder if
i wonder if
i wonder if she's fine
like the fields that are left with nothing
but crying out for the floods
i am emptied with just a fragment
of one solid train of thought
i wonder if she's fine
down in the corner of my mind
i wonder if
i wonder if
i wonder if she's fine
and she answers in the wind
hiding in the pine trees' green
She's always there to lead me through the haze
is it easier to go on when you know the way?

Valor Girl
05:50
|
|||
Valor Girl
inside your eyes i see an orchestra
conducted madly by your brain
the motif's louder now
and it can never stop
i once knew you a valor girl
marks on your skin like soldiers on the field
the campaign is set, they're marching on
and i watch from the side
no words of wrong or right
and frightened of what's coming next
I know she's a valor girl
she can guide us through and show us to the promised land
i see it in my mind
magnificent and loving
i will follow her
until the end of time
she can guide us through and show us to the promised land
i've seen her in my mind
from her smile poured many colors
but it's hiding now
i once knew you a valor girl

Come Here Anytime
04:22
|
|||
Come here any time
you can come here any time
the garden is neglected
but the door is open
you can come
turn the light on and sit with me
we'll no longer live in misery
there's room to hold your burden
my loving is for free
you can call me anytime
or surprise me at the door
'cause i don't mind
you can come
leave your troubled mind behind
and forget about the time
the world is at our fingertips
so why go outside
shifting sands have drowned me
blizzards often dusted my soul
ocean waves have pounded me
until i found my home
you can come here anytime
the garden is neglected
but the door is open
you can come
leave your troubled mind behind
and forget about the time
there's room to hold your burden
my love don't cost a dime

Grey Herons
05:00
|
|||
Grey Herons
Herons flew above me in the morning light
giant shadows fell down on me
and misty waves sounded in my ears
they still echo in my mind
baby, once in a while
as my eyesight fails
and all the colors range
between tones of gray
i recall that sound
and i wish i was
in that morning light
where the herons fly
the creek and i have aged
the herons are all gone
grey and white, they don't fly here
but as i stare through the rising dawn
they're still vivid in my mind
baby once in a while
i can hardly see
through my memories
it's like a crazy dream
i once had of dying
and i wish i was
in that morning light
in the morning light
in the morning light
i wish i was
in the morning light
as the years come tumbling down
i wonder if i'll hear the sound
of the grey herons flight
in the morning light

She Calls My Name
04:00
|
|||
she calls my name
I saw a thing of beauty
and her face was tired and pale
I think of her again
when the stars are rising
I met her somewhere between worlds
As she was slowly fading away
And soon she will be dead
Just a star shining
She calls my name
Sometimes I wish we'd never met
She calls my name
Too young to go, too young to fade
I had only minutes
To distract her from the pain
To fill the room with sound
And then go on my way
But as I left
I realized i'd never be the same
Cause I had seen the world
Reflected from her face
I see a thing of beauty
In almost everything around
But then I hit the ground and run for shelter
And she was a flash of goodness
In this broken world of mine
My visit there was short but lasted ages
She calls my name
Sometimes I wish we'd never met
She calls my name
Too young to go, too young to fade
I had only minutes
To distract her from the pain
To fill the room with sound
And then go on my way
But as I left
I realized i'd never be the same
Cause I had seen the world
Reflected from her face

The Jordan River
03:21
|
|||
The Jordan River
went down to see an aching woman in her twilight days
and i meant to feed her hope while the guitar played
with a shuttered glance she told me
we shall meet again
on the banks of Jordan's River
i went down to see The Jordan River
as her words foretold
but I'm searching still as the cold wind blows
to find The Jordan River
and my soul
now i know that she is watching from long ago
and i hold my head up high, see there's always a choice
in her sorrow she reminds me that i must go on
'til i find that misty river
i went down to see The Jordan River
as her words foretold
but I'm searching still as the cold wind blows
to find the Jordan river
and my soul

Rock All Night
06:16
|
|||
Rock all night
my house stands in the meadow
and it welcomes no one
i'm out following footsteps
toward the bridge to your heart
i saw myself on a highway
one destination and a one way ride
i thought you'd never rejoin me
my house is closed for the winter
and there's no key to be found
i keep warm on strange wishes
and a passion for life
and as i try to get closer
will you see here the man in me
will you come on and join me
to rock all night
to dive in the water
and swim towards the light
to rock all night
above a wishing well i was standing
minding my own self
wishing for wounds to recover from
and the burning of the flame
i threw a rock to the bottom
and felt so high
felt like everyone joined me
to rock all night
to dive in the water
and swim towards the light
to rock all night
but i'm in trouble
my house is locked
i can't get out now
it's getting dark
so goodnight brothers
goodnight love
goodnight mother
goodnight dad
goodnight lovers
